Bentley and Le Mans - The Return Of A Legend
It was late in May 1923 when a 3-litre Bentley left London for the coast. On board were two drivers, one mechanic and a few spares. Destination: Le Mans. 79 years later on an early June day in 2002 Bentley returned exactly to the same place after years of neglecting the motorsport environment. It happened with a big bang. They did not only return to the place, where it all began, they also returned to motorsport glory.
For almost 70 years the company's fate had been bound up with that of Rolls-Royce. Then, in 1998, Volkswagen AG bought Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motor Cars at Crewe, while Rolls-Royce sold its car marque to BMW, which has assumed total responsibility for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars since 2003. Now, in the 21st century, Bentley Motors has embarked on a fresh chapter of unprecedented expansion. Volkswagen AG has undertaken a massive investment programme in Crewe, not only in financial but in intellectual terms, sharing its experience and expertise and accepting those of Bentley in return. In October 1999 Volkswagen announced, that the company would invest about 500 Million British Pounds into Rolls-Royce/Bentley facilities and new development projects for a 5 year period. It was expected that the focus was on the development of a small Bentley, which should enable to enhance current 1400 units to 9000 units p.a. Bentley is well on its way. Starting with the Continental Coupe, whose design was already conceptualized in 1999, Bentley created an outstanding automobile, that is conceived to be a sporting coupé without rival, it is the fastest Bentley in the 83-year history of the company and the fastest genuine four-seat coupé in the world and it combines all elements of the finest Grand Touring traditions and Bentley craftsmanship with some of the most advanced technologies ever brought to the automotive market.Followed by the limousine versions within the last years VW is fullfilling its promises to combine fine craftsmanship with, what is for Bentley to be considered, high volume production.

Brooklands Centenary Festival 16-17 June 2007
100 years. One weekend to remember.
This June, it’s time to go back to where it all began. The place where Britain created the world’s first purpose built racing circuit. Achieved its first world land speed record. First learned to conquer flight. And first realised the dream of supersonic passenger travel.
Brooklands, the true home of British racing and aviation, turns 100 years old on 17th June. To celebrate, the Brooklands Museum is hosting a breathtaking weekend festival on 16th and 17th June to commemorate a century of speed and courage.
From giant pre-war racers and motorcycles to the latest grand prix cars, fabric-and-wire biplanes to Concorde, hundreds of the most famous Brooklands machines will return to bring the famous banked circuit back to life. And we want you to be at the centre of it all. |

CARS INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH COSWORTH
Cars International, the supplier of high-performance road and racing cars, has entered an exclusive relationship with famed engine producer Cosworth to supply and service V10 Formula 1 engines to customers. Cars International’s workshop, near Membury in Berkshire, will supply and install the TJ-series 3.0-litre Cosworth V10 that raced in Formula 1 from 2003 to 2006, and most recently with Toro Rosso. The engine will be particularly appropriate for the pan-European series EuroBOSS as well as for demonstrations and track days in F1 cars. Cars International founder Paul Osborn said: "There are many late-model F1 cars out there that people find extremely difficult to adapt because they can’t get the existing available engines in them, not just because they are too big but because of the crank height. The Cosworth V10 will be the only modern, compact F1 engine that is available." The V10, which would also be suitable f or use in a modern Le Mans Prototype car, will be supplied in two formats: 900bhp, which will run for 1200 kilometres between rebuilds; and 750bhp, which will run for up to 1500 kilometres. |

| The Luzzago name is synonomous with quality, a symbol of Brescia, based in the town of Mille Miglia, a solid and stable reality in the vintage car sector. One shared passion makes the customer a friend Luzzago's success is based upon a close relationship with it's customers many of whom are or become friends. Whoever purchases a classic car does so with a spirit quite diverse from those buying a modern automobile. The client arrives at Luzzago with a desire to travel back in time at the wheel of a Jaguar or Triumph like the ones driven thirty or forty years ago: a desire to escape the constraints of contemporary living and discover new emotions that perhaps they could not permit themselves when younger; the joy of grasping a large wooden steering wheel, without power steering that transmits the heart of the road through your hands, whilst the wind rushes through your hair. Cristiano and Valerio know this desire all too well, the focus of their last 28 years has been based upon it so a visit to Luzzago is a good excuse to take time out and immerse yourself in that passion. |
