Supercars - A Breed Of Sportscars That Will Survive Ages

Supercars, who has not dreamt of owning or driving one in his or her lifetime. The term supercar itself usually refers to factory-built, street-legal sports cars, rather than modified production cars that may have similar performance. Supercars are usually designed for road and amateur track use rather than racing alone, and because of this their standard equipment often does not include roll cages and other features required for race cars. Some might argue about, what components describe a supercar the best, but there is an unanimous feeling and no doubt about, that design, power to weight ratio, accelleration, top speed, brand, styling, rarity and handling are the main components these dreamcars are made of.Most of all you can say supercars are extremely brand-centric (e.g. Ferrari) and a new brand wanting to join the list has to prove itself before its acceptance. They often feature groundbreaking styling elements. The Formula One-inspired Enzo Ferrari, for example, set a new styling direction for that company and virtually all cars classified as supercars undergo a very limited production run, typically no more than a few thousand in total.
Among the examples of cars that are generally agreed to have been supercars in their time are the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, Ferrari 250 GTO,Ferrari 288 GTO,Jaguar XKSS, Lamborghini Countach,Lamborghini Miura,Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing,Porsche 959,Bugatti Veyron and the Ferrari Enzo, just to name a few.Racingdeal.com is proud to provide you with these automobiles on a day to day basis.Take a look at some of the supercars in todays newsletter, and we are sure you will enjoy them. In our attempt, to serve you even better,we have redesigned the newsletter and there are more changes to be announced shortly. For all your advertising needs we are always here to serve you around the clock. Established in 1846 and long renowned for its fine art, thoroughbred horses and country property sales, auction house Brightwells of Leominster has recently branched out into the business of selling classic cars and mororcycles. So far the firm has staged five sales since 2005, with the last three seeing over 120 vehicles consigned of which around 70% found new homes.

Top price at the last sale in March went to a 1927 Bentley 3-Litre open tourer which fetched a well above estimate £101,200. Another Bentley also did exceptionally well, this one a Derby-era 1937 Park Ward saloon which fetched an extremely impressive £38,500, again well above estimate and beyond what the market generally considers to be the top price for one of these cars. Topseller among the bikes was a 1950 Vincent Rapide which fetched £18,100.

Brightwells next classic sale is on July 11th and entries are now being sought. Cars already consigned to the sale include a very rare 1913 Napier 30/35 and three very unusual barn finds – a 1933 Morgan Super Sports 3-wheeler, a 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 and a 1935 Austin Ten Colwyn Cabriolet.

To enter your vehicle into the sale please contact James Dennison on 01568 611122 or email classiccars@brightwells.com
CARS INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH COSWORTH

Cars International, the supplier of high-performance road and racing cars, has entered an exclusive relationship with famed engine producer Cosworth to supply and service V10 Formula 1 engines to customers. Cars International’s workshop, near Membury in Berkshire, will supply and install the TJ-series 3.0-litre Cosworth V10 that raced in Formula 1 from 2003 to 2006, and most recently with Toro Rosso. The engine will be particularly appropriate for the pan-European series EuroBOSS as well as for demonstrations and track days in F1 cars. Cars International founder Paul Osborn said: "There are many late-model F1 cars out there that people find extremely difficult to adapt because they can’t get the existing available engines in them, not just because they are too big but because of the crank height. The Cosworth V10 will be the only modern, compact F1 engine that is available." The V10, which would also be suitable f
or use in a modern Le Mans Prototype car, will be supplied in two formats: 900bhp, which will run for 1200 kilometres between rebuilds; and 750bhp, which will run for up to 1500 kilometres.

THE BEAUTY ON DETAIL MOMENTS IN CAMERA

http://ralphluekerphoto.com/
Meet Alex Finigan
The head of Paul Russell and Company''s Classic Car Sales department is the consummate car guy. A boyhood spent treasuring the latest car magazine led him to open his own Porsche restoration business in upstate New York. By the late 1970s he found himself spinning wrenches in Marblehead, Mass., restoring 1950s Mercedes-Benz alongside Paul Russell.

An essential founding member of Gullwing Service Company, Alex spent his first decade here displaying his mechanical talents on 300 SL roadsters and coupes. As the business expanded its undertaking to offer full restoration services on other European classics, and changed its name to Paul Russell and Company, our clients were requesting expert guidance in view of the accelerating sales market of the late 1980s.

Alex was the obvious choice to take on that assignment. His life-long habit of consuming everything ever written about any car, coupled with his technical knowledge, marketplace savvy, and personal contacts, make him a natural to assist those who wish to avoid the pitfalls others have encountered while collecting classic cars.

There is a tremendous amount to know and to keep pace with in the collector car market. And there is a vast difference between a good street car, a suitable restoration candidate, and a wonderfully preserved original. Consideration must be given to your individual desires and limitations in order to help you meet your goal from both a quality and a cost standpoint. Sometimes his most valuable advice is the recommendation to not purchase a particular car.

He has a well-deserved reputation for integrity, and consequently is entrusted with the special opportunities that are not always made available to the general public. His advice and guidance is given with an emphasis on building long-term relationships rather than on the closing of any one sale. The benefits you receive from his services more than cover the modest fees.

Alex has handled the acquisition or sale of many of the great classics, including the Mercedes-Benz SS and 540K Special Roadster, plus the 300 SL, 300 S and SC; the Ferrari 275, 166, and California Spyder; Porsche Spyder and Speedster; Jaguar D-Type; and the BMW 507, to name just a few.

For assistance with finding or selling your classic car, contact Alex Finigan by phone at (1) 978.768.6092 or via email at alex@paulrussell.com.
