The 250 GT Lusso was the final model in the 250 GT series in pure road car form, which made its debut at the 1962 Paris Salon, and continued in production until the latter part of 1964, by which time 350 examples had been produced. It was the direct replacement for the 250 GT Coupe, as although there was a Lusso street version of the 250 GT called "Passo Corto" berlinetta, which did not even have any space for luggage. the body styling from Pininfarina won immideate praise, and featured a front-end design with a wide low egg crate grill similar to the 250 GT "SWB" berlinetta.Whether you choose a so called "breadvan", a convertible or berlinetta, you are choosing an automobile of high standard and price, but with the few produced cars of that series you can be sure, that the prices will never drop. The Competizione version won a great many of races including 2 GT-class wins and a 3rd overall place at La Mans. This 250 chassis number #4553 GT, born as a 1962 GTE and then was converted in the early 90s by the skillful Terry Hoyle to SWB competition specifications.
