Why do you need our newsletter?
This is the first newsletter since we took over http://www.racingdeal.com and since we relaunched the site. We had a very successful month of February with over 20000 enthusiasts visiting our marketplace. From the over 100000 page views 30% are already coming from USA/Canada, the Near East and Asia, so this is really a global market.
We think we should not duplicate, what you can read at the newsstand. Our colleagues from the print-magazines are doing a good job on this. So we will dedicate our free newsletter on how to spend your money best. Hot tips on cars to watch, events to visit, models and books to buy, contacts to make and future classics to buy. On the best deals on wheels - thats our theme.
We benefit from worldwide contacts and an understanding of the collectors- and sports- and racingcar-market since over 20 years.
The best advice we can give is to focus on originality and history. When you take the outstanding display of cars from the well known dealer Lukas Hüni at the Retromobile with a Shelby Cobra Prototype (right), a Porsche 917K, a Jaguar XKSS and an ex-Scuderia Filipinetti Ferrari 275 GTB plus an AC 428 prototype and a Ferrari 250 Europa. All with excellent history and in outstanding shape. Whether you buy a Beetle Convertible or a Ford GT 40 you have to make sure that the cars history is fine.
We try to help you on making a first choice. Over 2000 automobiles on our website is a good start after 3 months.
Sincerely yours racingdeal.com |

Sleepers - bargains to watch!
Basically the same applies to the more affordable end of the market. Smart buyers are always going for cars that have been well restored already or that are in good original shape, because specialist skills are on the increase. This is our list to watch:

Better buy now: Early Porsche 911
The market trend is sensational - any of the cars from 1965 to 1973 are definitely to buy now. A rust free 911 S or 911 E or T make terrific daily drivers and all are on the rise. It used to be only the more expensive 2.7 RS or the 911 S, but that is no longer the case.
And even the later Carrera Cabrios or the last air-cooled classic 993 are great buys, when you dont want to go the risk of a 30-40 year-old Porsche. Again: Give special attention to the matching number engine and the history (including service receipts). Buy a better one, because parts and labour can hurt your pocket. |

Investment Markets: Old Racing Goodies
Watch the big shows and auctions for memorabilia, which is linked to the 60's racing. Old jackets, helmets or overalls are goodies, which will definitely go up in price. Most of the stuff is already gone into collections, so if you still have the chance to get something important, do it now! |

Investment markets: Russia
After world war II many great cars fall into Russian ownership. Horch cars, Mercedes SSK's, racing Auto Unions or even italian classics disappeared behind the Iron Curtain.
Now this is totally changing with the "new" Russian money coming into the big cities of Europe and Russia. The collectors car market is emerging very fast and more and more dealers report on the raising demand from russian enthusiasts.
It maybe takes a few more years to develop the broader interest in classic cars, but the rich collectors are already heavily on the market. Make sure that you use worldwide platforms like Google, Ebay or racingdeal.com to get connected to this news segment. |

Investment Market: Old Racing Photos
Not long ago you have been on one of the Autojumbles or Car Shows and you have seen wonderful original racing photos of LeMans, the Nürburgring, Sebring, Goodwood or any other of the great autodromes. But you thought that 3-5 dollars or Euros or Pounds for a nice photo was too much? We can just advice you, that you watch the remaining material more carefully and complete your marque or collection by these wonderful periodica now. Soon they will all be gone - and we haven't seen a lot at the Retromobile - and you are left with youngtimer-photos of the 70's and 80's! |
